The Prayer of Hezekiah part 3
In our last studies, we looked at the background of this prayer, and we discovered one of the largest armies was marching on Jerusalem, the messenger had all but insulted everyone within Judah, but most importantly dismissed Israel’s God and that nothing was going to stop the Assyrians from destroying Jerusalem and carrying everyone off as slaves. We discovered that Isaiah was the prophet at the time and was consulted by Hezekiah and that he had told him that the Assyrians would not come to Jerusalem and that the Lord would deliver them by a rumor. As the Assyrian army went to deal with the threat that had come by rumor another threat was given to Hezekiah and this threat was laid before God as Hezekiah knew He was the only One that could deal with it.
Tonight we will conclude our study of this prayer by seeing how God responds to Hezekiah, and what God does when people turn from their sin and seek Him.
