The Mediator of a New and Better Covenant

We have seen the author emphasize the point that Christ ministry far surpasses that of the Levitical priest, as in relation of the order of Melchizedek priesthood in the last chapter. We need to understand that the readers would be familiar with this context of the priesthood and now the knowledge of Jesus far surpassing it. Now the author is going to show how Jesus is the mediator of the new and better covenant.
