Friend of God

Can you imagine knowing your very painful death is quickly approaching, that everything you stand for is being rejected, that even your Father whom you have never been separated from is going to turn away from you because of the darkness, the sin of this world was about to be poured into you. That one of the ones that followed you, ate with you, watched you, was cared for by you, turned his back on you, and betrayed you as another one denies you. With all of this going on, can you imagine speaking about the great love you have for them and that you call them friends, that you chose them for a great work and that they are never to forget to love one another. I don’t think I could, but Jesus did, for this is the very reason He came.
