The High Position of Humility
Have you ever heard someone explain something and the more they get into their explanation the more you get confused? What is being said does not make any sense, it seems that they have flipped logic on its head. This passage we are about to study can very easily do that you if you are an unsuspecting reader. When you read these few verses, what you read will not seem to make sense, it will seem that what your eyes are seeing and if you are reading out loud, what your ears are hearing doesn’t make sense.
Here is the issue, the Bible is not like any other book, it is a living book and you have to be living to understand it. Again, you might be confused, allow me to clarify, you must be saved, born again, a Christian to actually understand God’s Word. To the lost, or those who are dead in sin, its just words on a page, meaningless, judgmental, and self righteous nonsense.
To those who are saved, it is the very words of God, it is instruction, it is comfort, it is promise, and it is life and how to live it. The Bible is replete with examples of what not to do, but despite all our lacking God is still faithful and just. Even with all that going for the Christian, they still must ask the Holy Spirit, the inspirer of the Bible, to open our minds and hearts to actually understand what the Bible is telling us.
